Ahead of the May 24, 2026 Governorship Primary Election of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), frontline governorship aspirant, Hon. Sunday Garba Biggs, has concluded his consultation and interface tour across the Plateau Southern Zone, meeting with party leaders, stakeholders, and grassroots mobilizers in a bid to strengthen support for his ambition.
The tour, which covered Mikang, Shendam, Qua’an Pan, Langtang North, Langtang South, and Wase Local Government Areas, witnessed large gatherings of PDP stakeholders, including LGA executives, ward leaders, youth and women groups, as well as other party faithful.
The first phase of the meeting, involving delegates and party leaders from Qua’an Pan, Mikang, and Shendam LGAs, was held at Royal Hotel in Shendam. During the gathering, several party stakeholders openly declared their support for Hon. Sunday Garba Biggs, describing him as the most qualified among the aspirants seeking the PDP governorship ticket.
Speaking during the event, the PDP Chairman of Shendam LGA, Mr. Francis Tunkuyo, warmly introduced the aspirant and assured him of the support of party members ahead of the primary election.
Also speaking, the PDP Youth Leader of Qua’an Pan LGA, Usmail Sani; the Women Leader of Mikang LGA, Ruth Danladi; Chairman of Shendam Central Ward B, Charles Sakle; and the Deputy Chairman of Shendam LGA, Emmanuel Atikum, all pledged their support for the aspiration of Hon. Sunday Garba Biggs, expressing confidence in his capacity to lead Plateau State effectively.
The consultation train later moved to Tim-Tali Club in Langtang North, where party leaders and stakeholders from Wase, Langtang North, and Langtang South LGAs gathered for another round of interface with the PDP governorship hopeful.
At the meeting, the PDP Chairman of Langtang North LGA, Barr. Nanman Amos, appreciated Hon. Sunday Garba Biggs for his contributions toward strengthening the PDP in the state and assured him of the zone’s support during the forthcoming primary election.
Addressing party faithful at the event, Hon. Sunday Garba Biggs reiterated his commitment to equity, fairness, and inclusive leadership. He stated that, if elected governor, he would serve only a single tenure of four years, noting that Plateau Central, his zone, had already enjoyed at least one full tenure and that he believes meaningful impact can still be achieved within four years of purposeful leadership.
The PDP governorship aspirant further promised to prioritize the provision of social amenities across the state, with special emphasis on addressing the persistent water scarcity affecting communities in the Langtang axis. According to him, his administration would introduce targeted interventions aimed at improving access to clean and sustainable water supply in the area.
The meetings ended on a positive note, with party stakeholders expressing optimism over the future of the PDP ahead of the governorship primary election.
