2027: Sunday Garba Biggs Interfaces with Plateau North PDP Leaders, Reaffirms Governorship Ambition

A frontline governorship aspirant in Plateau State, Hon. Sunday Garba Biggs, on Tuesday, May 20, 2026, held an interactive meeting with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) executives and stakeholders from the Northern Zone of the state.

The meeting, which took place at Lamonde Hotel, brought together PDP local government chairmen, secretaries, youth and women leaders, as well as other critical stakeholders across the zone. Speaking during the engagement, Hon. Sunday Garba Biggs reaffirmed his ambition to contest for the governorship of Plateau State, stressing that his aspiration is driven by a genuine desire to move the state forward and improve the lives of the people.

He explained that his years of experience working at the Plateau State Government House have equipped him with the knowledge and understanding needed to provide purposeful leadership and deliver the dividends of democracy effectively.

According to him, Plateau State deserves a new direction anchored on competence, inclusiveness, peace, and sustainable development.

The governorship aspirant also assured party leaders that he respects the zoning arrangement within the state and would only seek to complete the remaining four years allotted to the Plateau Central Zone. He noted that the essence of the meeting was to formally interface with party stakeholders, consult widely, and seek their support and guidance regarding his aspiration.

Hon. Biggs further shared his ideas on addressing insecurity in Plateau State, emphasizing the need to adopt digital and technology-driven strategies to strengthen peace and security across communities.

Speaking at the event, the PDP Youth Leader in Bassa LGA, Pam Bot, advocated for greater youth inclusion in governance and pledged his support for the aspiration of Hon. Sunday Garba Biggs. Similarly, the PDP Women Leader in Bassa LGA, Mrs. Sansanatu Audu, openly declared her support for the governorship hopeful, expressing confidence in his leadership capacity and vision for Plateau State.

Also speaking, the Chairman of PDP Chairmen in Bassa LGA, Sunday Ngwe, described Hon. Sunday Garba Biggs as a credible and capable leader who possesses the qualities needed to move Plateau State to greater heights.

The meeting ended on a positive note, with stakeholders commending the aspirant for consulting widely and engaging party faithful ahead of the 2027 political activities.
