Plateau Youth Council Shendam LGA Launches Campaign Against Social Vices

The Plateau Youth Council (PYC) Shendam Local Government Area (LGA) has launched a sensitization campaign to combat human trafficking, forced labor, prostitution, illicit drug consumption, and other social vices. Organized by the LGA PYC Chairman, Comr. Lankwap Jerry, and his executive committee, the event drew the attendance of distinguished dignitaries.

Notable figures in attendance included Mr. Chris Nyetiem, Secretary of Shendam Local Government; Hon. Paul Goboro Goboro, Deputy Chairman of the Council; Linus Bringmiap, Chief of Staff to the Council Chairman; Wuchitwe Gowal, State PYC Clerk; representatives from the National Women Society of Nigeria; and the Muslim Student Association Shendam Branch.

The campaign kicked off at the Shendam Youth Center and later extended to various motor parks and the market square. The primary focus was to sensitize parents and guardians on the dangers of entrusting their children to unknown individuals, who may lead them to unknown destinations, exposing them to grave risks.

The Plateau Youth Council Shendam LGA, through the chairman emphasized the importance of community involvement in preventing social vices and urged all stakeholders to join forces in combating these menaces, ensuring a safer and more secure environment for all.
