The 3-day workshop is aimed at reviewing the Agency’s 2025 Annual Operational Plan while developing a robust and strategic plan for 2026 in line with PLASCHEMA’s mandate to provide accessible and sustainable healthcare coverage for residents of Plateau State.
Declaring the workshop open, Dr. Julfa Jude Nden highlighted that the essence of the meeting is to collectively assess the agency’s performance in 2025 and strategically plan for the year ahead.
In his presentation on the objectives of the workshop, Dr. Nden emphasized the need to:
Review and validate the 2025 AOP and its challenges;
Align all departments on shared goals, key initiatives, and success metrics;
Develop 2026 strategic objectives;
Foster cross-functional collaboration that aligns with the agency’s core mandate; and
Identify synergies across departments to enhance operational impact.
The second facilitator, Dr. Kefas Ibrahim, delivered an insightful presentation on “Nigeria Health Sector Renewal Investment Program and SWAP: The Journey So Far.” He discussed national health sector reforms and how they relate to the state’s contributory health scheme.
Similarly, Dr. Solomon Kwakfur spoke on “Optimizing Operational Efficiency and Productivity,” emphasizing strategies to improve internal processes and maximize the agency’s performance for greater service delivery.
Some participants, including Dorcas Zum Bello and Stephen Sarpiya, expressed optimism about the workshop’s impact. They noted that the training would enable them to effectively review the year’s operations, develop a clear roadmap for 2026, and strengthen their capacity for improved performance.
The workshop continues over the next two days, featuring group sessions, departmental reviews, and the development of key strategic action points that will guide PLASCHEMA’s operations for 2026.
