dRPC Pledges Technical Support at the Launch of Senator Oluremi Tinubu Gender Centre of Excellence, National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Plateau State.

The National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) in Kuru, Plateau State, hosted a landmark event, the official commissioning of the Senator Oluremi Tinubu Gender Centre of Excellence. The ceremony brought together esteemed guests, including Senator Oluremi Tinubu, First Lady of Nigeria; Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, Governor of Plateau State; and Prof. Ayo Omotayo, Director General of NIPSS.

The Centre aims to promote inclusive governance and gender-responsive policy-making in Nigeria. In her remarks, Senator Tinubu emphasized the importance of gender equity in Nigeria’s development vision. The Centre will strengthen policymakers’ capacity to integrate gender perspectives into national planning, peacebuilding, and economic governance.

The development Research and Projects Centre (dRPC), a key partner, has championed gender-responsive initiatives and collaborated with NIPSS since 2006. Prof. Plangsat B. Dayil, representing dRPC, pledged continued support for the Centre’s mission, citing its potential to drive transformative policy across Africa.

The Centre’s establishment addresses gaps in representation, inclusion, and equity, ensuring policies reflect the voices of women, girls, and marginalized communities. dRPC has contributed to policy domestication in states like Kaduna, Kano, Plateau, Enugu, and Akwa Ibom, and will continue to support the Centre’s growth.
