He proceeded to the School of Preliminary Studies, Keffi (1993–1994), before enrolling at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi, where he earned a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Estate Management in 2003. Driven by a quest for knowledge and professional mastery, he obtained a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Construction Management from the University of Jos (2005–2007) and is currently pursuing a PhD in Property Development and Management at the same institution.

Hon. Abel Jilemsam’s career trajectory reflects a blend of academia, public service, and entrepreneurship. His early professional exposure included industrial training at JMDB Jos (2001) and NNPC Towers, Abuja (2002). Upon completion of his National Youth Service Corps program with the Cross River State Ministry of Education (2003–2004), he began his teaching career at the Nasarawa State Polytechnic, Lafia, where he served as a lecturer from 2005 to 2011.

His commitment to public service saw him move to the National Assembly, where he served diligently as Senior Legislative Aide to Senator Joshua Dariye from 2011 to 2019. In this capacity, he gained deep insights into governance, policymaking, and grassroots representation—skills that have since shaped his leadership philosophy.

Beyond public service, Hon. Jilemsam is an accomplished entrepreneur and the Chairman/CEO of Yakalshen Integrated Services Nigeria Ltd, Jos—an enterprise that embodies his belief in innovation, self-reliance, and sustainable development.
