Jos, Plateau State | Sunday, 20 September 2026
Leaders of the CALEBITES Movement of Plateau State, led by Honourable Choji, have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening unity within the All Progressives Congress (APC), promoting inclusive leadership and expanding grassroots mobilisation across the state.
The commitment was made during a high-level courtesy visit to the Chairman of the APC in Plateau State, Hon. Rufus Bature, at his residence in Jos. The delegation comprised APC stakeholders, political appointees, frontline aspirants from across the state, former councillors, former supervisory councillors, special advisers, senior special assistants, respected grassroots leaders from the 17 local government areas, Plateau Youth Council veterans and members of the Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN).
Hon. Choji and members of the delegation commended Bature’s efforts to build a united, inclusive and grassroots-oriented party capable of expanding its presence across Plateau State. They pledged to work closely with the party leadership and all relevant stakeholders to strengthen internal cohesion, enhance grassroots mobilisation, encourage political participation and consolidate the APC’s organisational structure ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The delegation described the visit as a strategic engagement aimed at fostering unity, strengthening confidence in the party and building a formidable political family capable of delivering victory for the APC at all levels. They emphasised the importance of bringing together party leaders, elected and appointed officials, aspirants, youth leaders, former officeholders and grassroots stakeholders under a common vision for the progress of the party and Plateau State.
Receiving the delegation, Bature expressed appreciation for the Movement’s support and commended the broad-based composition of the delegation. He stressed the importance of unity, discipline, inclusiveness, loyalty and sustained engagement at the grassroots as essential pillars for building a strong and victorious political organisation.
He said the party remained open to constructive engagement with political movements, leaders, youths, aspirants, former officeholders, faith-based stakeholders and all individuals committed to advancing the interests of the APC and Plateau State.
The meeting also highlighted the need to build bridges across political constituencies and establish a broad-based mobilisation platform extending from the polling-unit level to the state leadership. Participants agreed that a united and coordinated structure, driven by consultation and mutual respect, would be critical to achieving the party’s objectives in 2027 and beyond.
Both sides pledged to sustain their engagement, deepen political collaboration, promote democratic participation and work collectively towards a stronger, more united and more formidable APC across Plateau State.
