Engr. Apollos Samchi Delivers Extempore Speech at UNIJOS Mwaghavul Community Maiden Colloquium, Commends Gov. Mutfwang’s Development Efforts.

The managing Director of Jos Water Services Corporation, Engr. Apollos Samchi, delivered an inspiring extempore speech during the maiden colloquium of the University of Jos Mwaghavul Community, tagged “Puus Manshak 2026”, a Mwaghavul expression meaning “A Day of Knowing Ourselves.”

Addressing participants at the event, Engr. Samchi warmly congratulated the Mwaghavul community in the University of Jos for organizing the historic gathering, describing it as a commendable initiative aimed at strengthening unity, preserving cultural heritage, and promoting intellectual engagement among members of the community.
He noted that the colloquium provides an important platform for reflection, interaction, and collective thinking on issues that will foster the growth and development of the Mwaghavul people, particularly within the academic environment.

Engr. Samchi also used the occasion to appreciate the Executive Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, for his unwavering commitment to the development of the state. He specifically commended the Governor for approving the sum of ₦30 million to ensure a steady water supply at the University of Jos, describing the intervention as timely and impactful.

According to him, the Governor’s administration has continued to demonstrate purposeful leadership through investments in critical sectors, including infrastructure development, security, education, and human capital development. He said these efforts are positively transforming the lives of Plateau citizens and laying a solid foundation for sustainable growth.

He encouraged members of the Mwaghavul community to remain united, uphold their cultural values, and continue contributing meaningfully to the progress of the University of Jos, Plateau State, and the nation at large.
The maiden edition of Puus Manshak 2026 attracted academics, professionals, students, traditional leaders, and other distinguished sons and daughters of Mwaghavul extraction, all committed to promoting the rich heritage and collective aspirations of the Mwaghavul people.
