As part of the Nigerian Army Day celebrations, a Golf Tournament was held today, headlined by Lt. Gen. Lamidi Adeosun (Rtd), the former GOC of the 7 Division and the former Chief of Policy and Planning at Army Headquarters. The event saw distinguished attendance, with HE Sen. Simon Bako Lalong, the former Governor of Plateau State and the current Senator representing Plateau Southern Zone, serving as the Special Guest of Honour.
Following the tournament, Lt. Gen. Ta Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff, inaugurated several key projects within the Maxwell Khobe Cantonment. The inaugurations began with the newly constructed 3 Division Sports Complex Pavilion, followed by the commissioning of two blocks of 30-family CBQs at Phase II of the cantonment, a project completed under the Nigerian Army Special Project initiative. Additionally, Lt. Gen. Lagbaja unveiled the newly constructed 3 Division GAR RSM’s House and the remodeled 3 Division Complex Quarter Guard, a project overseen by Maj. Gen. AE Abubakar.
During an interview, Lt. Gen. Lagbaja highlighted the significance of adequate accommodation within the barracks, noting that this necessity drove the recent developments. He emphasized the army’s commitment to reaching out to communities in need of social amenities and infrastructural development, underscoring the army’s broader vision of fostering community development and welfare.
These projects represent a significant step towards enhancing the living conditions of military personnel and their families, reflecting the Nigerian Army’s dedication to the well-being of its members and the broader community.
