Day 2 of NG-CARES Inspection in Plateau Central: Boosting Rural Connectivity and Empowering Communities

On Day 2 of the NG-CARES inspection in Plateau Central, Dr. Haggai Gutap led the team in a thorough review of the road network in Daika, Mangu LGA. Accompanied by Mr. Gideon Dandam, Coordinator of Fadama III (RA2), and Engr. Esther Agoh, Head of Disbursement Linked Indicator (DLI) 2.2 focusing on infrastructure, Dr. Gutap emphasized the critical role of these inspections in ensuring the success of development projects. He commended Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang for his dedication to constructing roads that facilitate the transportation of agricultural products, thereby empowering the youth.

Hon. Markus Artu, the TIC Chairman, praised the initiative and promised to collaborate closely with the NG-CARES team to support the government’s efforts. HRH Aminu Derwam, District Head of Panyam, expressed his appreciation to the NG-CARES team and the Governor, assuring them that the community would protect the projects. Additionally, Mr. Solomon Plangkat, Panyam Youth Leader, and Mrs. Charity Daspan, Community Women Leader, extended their gratitude on behalf of their respective groups.

The team then inspected the Fwangkwak-Gal-Kung road, which links Fwangkwak to Gal-Kung. Previously, residents had to travel 6 kilometers to reach neighboring villages. Resident Datok Vwamniyang highlighted the significant impact of the government’s intervention, which resolved this major issue.

In Dangmet Village, Dr. Gutap addressed the residents on behalf of the Governor, appreciating their cooperation and outlining the Governor’s efforts in road construction and providing agricultural inputs such as fertilizers.

At Kongbring Junction to Kongbring Village in Kerang ward of Mangu LGA, community leaders welcomed the inspection team and expressed their gratitude for the government’s road development efforts.

The NG-CARES team then moved to Lingpang, Pankshin South where Dr. Gutap reiterated Governor Mutfwang’s dedication to enhancing road networks and agricultural support. Mathias Daze, a community leader, received the team with gratitude and pledged loyalty to the government.

The final inspection was in Chip Village, where the team examined the road leading to seven villages, including Khiduhum, Kopkuleng, Pyabor, and Mundung. Mrs. Hellen Rangdat, Secretary of Pankshin LGA, and other community leaders such as Abel Dadyel expressed their appreciation for the government’s efforts, while also requesting further support.

This initiative to improve road connectivity in rural communities aims to ease the transportation of goods, thereby boosting local economies and enhancing the quality of life for residents. The NG-CARES inspections underscore the government’s commitment to fostering development and addressing the needs of its citizens.
