NG-CARES initiative extends lifeline to IDPs in Lalin ward, Mikang LGA, Plateau State.

The first phase of the Nigeria COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus (NG-CARES) World Bank Project is set to benefit internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Lalin ward, Tehl district of Mikang Local Government Area of Plateau State. This initiative aims to alleviate the suffering of those displaced by recent attacks.

Hon. Bomkam Ali Wuyep, the Director General of PLASMIDA and State Coordinator Result Area 3 (RA3), announced this while addressing IDPs in Lalin, Mikang LGA. The operational grants, which is facilitated by the efforts of Governor Caleb Mutfwang, are intended to provide much-needed relief, especially with the onset of the rainy season.

Bomkam Wuyep highlighted that the grants are part of a broader effort by the Mutfwang Administration to ensure displaced individuals in Mikang are comfortable during this challenging time. Additionally, Bomkam also spoke on behalf of Mr. Gideon Dandam, who is the State Coordinator of FADAMA III (RA2), confirmed that arrangements have been made to supply farm inputs and livestock to the IDPs.

Hon. Isa Kongwai, the Camp Coordinator of the IDP, expressed his gratitude to the Governor for his proactive measures to support the IDPs. The team also paid a courtesy visit to His royal highness, Tuangsik Yitni, the village head of Lalin, Tehl district.

During the visit, the DG of PLASMIDA also spoke on behalf of Dr. Haggai Gutap, the technical administrative head who sought the cooperation of the traditional council to effectively carry out their responsibilities. His Royal highness, Tuangsik Yitni expressed his appreciation for the government’s initiative and pledged the council’s support to ensure the project’s success.

In conclusion, the NG-CARES project represents a significant step towards improving the lives of IDPs in Mikang LGA, providing them with the resources and support needed to rebuild and thrive.
