Today, 31st May 2026, the Executive Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, organized a special thanksgiving service to commemorate his third anniversary in office.
The event attracted an array of distinguished personalities, including former Governors of Plateau State, former ministers, members of the National Assembly, members of the Plateau State House of Assembly, appointees of the Plateau State Government, religious leaders, traditional rulers, party stakeholders, and several dignitaries within and outside the state.
Speaking during the service, the Deputy Governor of Plateau State, H.E. Ngo Josephine Piyo, highlighted the achievements recorded by the present administration within the last three years. She emphasized government interventions in critical sectors such as healthcare, agriculture, education, tourism, water supply, and youth empowerment. According to her, the administration has remained focused on improving the living conditions of Plateau citizens despite prevailing challenges. She further commended Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang for what she described as his visionary and purposeful leadership.
The thanksgiving service also featured special prayers led by respected clerics. Rev. Dr. Gideon Para-Mallam led prayers of thanksgiving to God for His faithfulness and guidance over the state and the administration.
Apostle Joseph Rims, the Plateau State Chairman of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), led prayers for peace and security in Plateau State and Nigeria at large.
In his exhortation, the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Plateau State, Rev. Dr. Dunka Gomwalk, spoke on the theme: “Celebrating Thanksgiving and Upholding Unity.” He stressed the importance of gratitude to God while encouraging Plateau citizens to remain united in pursuit of peace, progress, and sustainable development.
While delivering his remarks, Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang warmly welcomed guests and expressed profound appreciation to everyone who attended the occasion. He noted that the thanksgiving service was necessary to appreciate Almighty God for His grace, mercy, and faithfulness throughout his journey in leadership.
The Governor took time to recount the challenges he encountered during his first governorship contest, recalling how overwhelming political and financial forces stood against him, but God granted him victory. He also reflected on the difficult moments surrounding his swearing-in, particularly the security challenges and attacks experienced in parts of Mangu and Riyom Local Government Areas, which he described as orchestrated attempts to destabilize the state.
Governor Mutfwang further highlighted some of the interventions and achievements of his administration in the areas of empowerment, education, infrastructure development, and human capital development. He assured Plateau people that road construction projects are currently ongoing across 16 Local Government Areas of the state, with Langtang South expected to benefit subsequently. He also disclosed that his administration has cleared outstanding financial obligations inherited from previous administrations, including those of Dariye, Jang, and Lalong governments.
The event reached its climax with song ministrations, worship sessions, and prayers for the continued peace, unity, and progress of Plateau State.
The thanksgiving service served not only as a celebration of three years in office but also as a moment of reflection, gratitude, and renewed commitment towards building a stronger and more united Plateau State.
