Today, May 25, 2026, the member representing Pankshin, Kanke, and Kanam Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Yusuf Adamu Gagdi, returned to his constituency on a thank-you tour following his victory at the recently concluded All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election.
The appreciation visit, which covered the three local government areas of Pankshin, Kanke, and Kanam, drew party leaders, critical stakeholders, supporters, and community members who came out in large numbers to welcome the federal lawmaker.
The first stop of the tour was in Pankshin Local Government Area, where stakeholders and APC faithful gathered at the Gagdi Support Foundation office located at New Layout, Pankshin.
While addressing the gathering, Rt. Hon. Gagdi said he considered it necessary to return home and appreciate the people who have consistently stood by him throughout his political journey.
According to him, leadership is incomplete without gratitude and accountability to the people. He recalled a lesson from his mother, who often said that “a child that is properly raised must become a blessing to society.”
Drawing inspiration from those words, Gagdi assured the people that he would continue to serve the constituency diligently and create meaningful impact across the three local government areas without discrimination based on religion, ethnicity, or political sentiment.
The lawmaker also cautioned politicians and supporters against promoting division within the constituency, stressing that campaigns built on hatred and disunity would only weaken the collective progress of the people.
Speaking during the event, Hon. Rotshak G. Yokden, the APC candidate for Pankshin North State House of Assembly, commended Rt. Hon. Gagdi for his leadership style and numerous contributions to the constituency. He particularly praised the lawmaker for returning home to personally appreciate the people after the primary election victory, describing the gesture as a mark of humility and responsible representation.
The tour later moved to Kanke Local Government Area, where another stakeholders meeting was held at Kanke Resort. Addressing party faithful and supporters, Gagdi again expressed profound appreciation for the overwhelming support he received during the APC primary election. He assured the people of Kanke that he would continue to lead with the fear of God, fairness, and commitment to the welfare of the constituency.
The final leg of the appreciation tour took place in Kanam Local Government Area. Upon arrival, Rt. Hon. Gagdi paid a royal visit to the palace of His Royal Highness, Alhaji Mohammadu Mu’azu, where he received royal blessings and prayers for wisdom and successful leadership.
During the palace visit, the federal lawmaker reaffirmed his commitment to the development of Kanam and promised to continue initiating people-oriented projects aimed at improving the lives of the people.
Following the palace visit, Gagdi proceeded to a meeting with APC officials and supporters in Kanam, where he again thanked party leaders and supporters for the confidence repose in him during the primary election. Addressing the crowd, Rt. Hon. Yusuf Adamu Gagdi reiterated his dedication to bringing more dividends of democracy to the people of Pankshin, Kanke, and Kanam, emphasizing that his mandate remains a responsibility to serve all constituents irrespective of background or affiliation.
The appreciation tour was marked by excitement, solidarity, and renewed confidence supporters across the constituency, many of whom described the visit as a reflection of the lawmaker’s closeness to the people.
