The 2025 edition of The Mentors Guide annual conference took place on Wednesday, 26th November 2025, at Patrick’s Hall, Crispan Hotel in Jos, Plateau State. Organized by Dr. Jemchang Fabong, the founding partner and president of the initiative, the event drew together mentors, professionals, distinguished leaders, and young aspiring change-makers from across the country. For Dr. Fabong, the gathering was far more than an annual engagement; it was a moment of personal reflection and thanksgiving. In his remarks, he used the occasion to appreciate the many individuals who had shaped his journey—teachers who nurtured him, mentors who believed in his dreams, and friends who stood firmly by him even in the darkest phases of life. According to him, their collective influence formed the foundation upon which he stands today.
During the conference, Dr. Fabong revealed that twenty-four applicants from the six geopolitical zones of Nigeria had applied for the mentorship program under his leadership. After months of learning, assessments, and personal development sessions, only fourteen participants successfully completed the program. These graduates were formally inaugurated at the event, a moment that symbolized both achievement and the beginning of a new phase of leadership responsibility. Dr. Fabong commended them for their dedication, resilience, and commitment to self-improvement.
The climax of the gathering was the presentation of awards of honour to individuals whose lives and contributions have shaped generations. The awards were given primarily to Dr. Fabong’s teachers and to a host of distinguished personalities who, in diverse ways, have influenced society and inspired many. Among the honourees were H.E. Amb. Fidelis N. Tapgun, KSGG; H.E. Rt. Hon. and Distinguished Senator Simon Bako Lalong, KSGG; Most Rev. Dr. Benjamin Argak Kwashi; Prof. John Wokton Wade, MNI; Prof. Ali Ishaq Shugaba; the late Chief Dr. Rachel M. Adanchin; Chief Maqual George Michael; and several other notable individuals. Dr. Fabong emphasized that these men and women had not only impacted his life but had also contributed significantly to leadership development and the growth of many others.
The event concluded with a renewed sense of purpose and gratitude. Attendees left with a deeper appreciation for mentorship, leadership, and the transformative power of guidance.
