Hon. Dr. I.D. Lalu Shines in Plateau: Joins Dignitaries at APC Chairman’s Mother’s Burial

On Sunday, October 4, 2025, the COCIN Headquarters in Jos, Plateau State, was filled with dignitaries and esteemed guests as they gathered to pay their last respects to the late Mama Lydia Yilwatda, mother of the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda.

The burial ceremony, which was attended by heavyweights in government and politics, including His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, and other notable governors and National Assembly members, was a testament to the respect and admiration for the late matriarch and her illustrious son.

The Member representing Mangu/Bokkos Federal Constituency, Hon. Dr. I.D. Lalu, was in attendance and played a pivotal role in mobilizing his constituents to pay their respects to the deceased. His efforts in ensuring a massive turnout from his constituency was widely appreciated by the Yilwatda family and other dignitaries in attendance.

The final interment took place at the Chairman’s hometown, Dungung in Kanke Local Government Area, where the deceased was laid to rest amidst eulogies and tributes.

The occasion was a celebration of the life and legacy of Mama Lydia Yilwatda, whose impact on her family and the community will be greatly missed.
