On July 28, 2024, NG-Cares, a federal government initiative, welcomed representatives from the Federal Care Support Unit (FCSU) and the Bank of Industry (BOI) in a significant engagement tour across various agencies in Plateau State. The delegation included Mr. Ekom Umoren, the team lead, Mr. Gbenga Jolaosho from FCSU, and Mr. Mohammed Ali from BOI. Mr. Umore emphasized that the purpose of their visit was not to scrutinize but to engage with delivery units and discuss challenges encountered during project implementation.
Dr. Haggai Gutap, the technical administrative head, commenced the tour by welcoming the visitors and introducing them to the teams and projects. At Fadama, Chief. Gideon Dandam, the overall leader, pledged his commitment and outlined the distribution of farm inputs and the development of rural road networks.
The delegation then visited the Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA), where General Manager Mr. Dauda Dinju expressed his gratitude for ongoing support. Mr. Dinju highlighted the agency’s continuous efforts in community development, facilitated by federal assistance.
At PLASMIDA, Director of Administration Mr. Jackse Le’an received the visitors on behalf of Director General Bomkam Ali Wuyep, who was unavailable due to other commitments. Mr. Le’an expressed appreciation for the support provided to small-scale businesses in Plateau, particularly through operational grants.
The visit proceeded to the Ministry of Finance, where Mrs. Roseline Kefas Dakwar, the Permanent Secretary, received the delegation. She acknowledged the visitors and reiterated the dedication of His Excellency, Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, to enhancing infrastructure and social amenities.
Concluding the tour, the delegation observed beneficiaries of operational grants at a computer business center and a barbing salon, where recipients confirmed the positive impact of the support on their businesses. The team also inspected a road network project in Tahei Gyel, Jos South LGA, facilitated by Fadama, which significantly improved access for local farmers. Mr. Daniel James, the community development chairman, expressed gratitude for the intervention, noting the transformation in transporting goods during harvest.
The visit underscored a collaborative effort to address local challenges and bolster development initiatives in Plateau State, highlighting the commitment of all stakeholders to the region’s growth and prosperity.
