Yesterday, 25th January 2026, the Councillor representing Mangu Ward 1, Hon. Adamu Bello Dawop, officially kicked off his much-anticipated football tournament at the Mangu Mini Stadium.
The colourful event attracted critical stakeholders and residents of Ward 1, who gathered to witness the official commencement of the competition, popularly known as the Councillor’s Cup.
While making his remarks, Hon. Adamu Bello Dawop emphasized the vital role of sports in shaping the lives of youths, noting that football serves as a tool for unity, discipline, talent discovery, and positive engagement among young people. He further stated that the Councillor’s Cup is part of his campaign promises, which he is committed to fulfilling for the development and empowerment of youths in the ward.
The kickoff marked the beginning of an exciting tournament aimed at promoting peace, teamwork, and grassroots sports development within Mangu Ward 1.
