Senator Diket Plang Explores Strategic Partnerships with the Taiwan Ambassador

Distinguished Senator Diket Plang, representing Plateau Central, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Labour, Employment and Productivity, and Vice Chairman of Federal Character and Intergovernmental Affairs, on Tuesday attended a high-level dinner meeting with the Ambassador of Taiwan to Nigeria, where discussions focused on forging strategic partnerships that will benefit Plateau and Nigeria at large.

The meeting explored collaborative opportunities in key sectors including ICT, agriculture, and rural development. Senator Plang highlighted the need for enhanced human capital development, particularly in the areas of digital skills and modern agricultural practices, as critical drivers of sustainable growth for communities.

He expressed confidence that the emerging partnership will open doors for technology transfer, capacity building, and initiatives aimed at improving livelihoods across rural areas.

The Taiwan Ambassador commended Senator Plang’s commitment to development and expressed readiness to work together on programmes that will strengthen innovation and community transformation.
