The Plateau State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (PLASCHEMA) has taken a significant step towards enhancing its financial sustainability and expanding healthcare coverage across the state with the inauguration of its first Grant Management Squad.
The inauguration ceremony, held at the Agency’s Headquarters, was presided over by the Acting Director-General, Dr. Kwande Dawal, who stated that the move is part of the Agency’s renewed efforts to strengthen its financial sustainability and improve healthcare services.
The Grant Management Squad, comprising 14 members drawn from various departments, is expected to spearhead donor engagements, scout for funding opportunities, and ensure compliance with best practices in grant handling and reporting.
Dr. Dawal emphasized that the Squad’s establishment marks a major milestone in PLASCHEMA’s drive to build a robust and sustainable health financing system.
A partner of the Agency, the Women and Children Care Initiative (WOCCI), represented by its Programme Director, Albert Pam, commended PLASCHEMA for institutionalizing a grant management structure, which he said will boost donor confidence and expand the reach of social health insurance across Plateau State.
Speaking on behalf of the inaugurated Grant Management Squad, Stephen Sarpiya assured that the team is fully prepared to deliver on its mandate.
The Squad is expected to leverage the expertise of its members to promote transparent and impactful grant management, ultimately contributing to the success of PLASCHEMA’s mission to provide quality healthcare services to the people of Plateau State.
