Amb. Mrs. Mercy Dung Silas Honoured as “Best Advocate for the Girl Child in Plateau State”

Ambassador Mrs. Mercy Dung Silas, wife of the Executive Chairman of Jos South Local Government Area, Hon. Silas Dung, has been recognized for her unwavering commitment to the empowerment and protection of the girl child. She was honoured with the prestigious award of “Best Advocate for the Girl Child in Plateau State” at a colourful ceremony held at Usiju World Event Center, Apollo Crescent before Lamonde Hotel, Jos.

The award, presented by media personality and social advocate Sagacious Bello Lukman, celebrates her tireless efforts in championing the rights, welfare, and development of young girls across Plateau State.

In her acceptance speech, Amb. Mercy Dung Silas expressed profound gratitude for the recognition. She thanked Sagacious Bello Lukman for acknowledging her contributions and reaffirmed her dedication to the cause.

According to her, “I do not take this recognition for granted. It is a reminder of the responsibility placed on my shoulders and a motivation to do even more for the girl child in Plateau State and Nigeria as a whole.”

She further emphasized the importance of creating safe, supportive, and opportunities, rich environments for young girls, stressing that every girl deserves access to education, protection, and equal opportunities.
