In a brief but remarkable tenure as the Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Dr. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda demonstrated to our nation what it truly means to lead with clarity, courage, and purpose. With a steady hand, he entered a complex area and reopened the channels for development partners to trust the system again. He stabilised the ministry, eased tensions that had long persisted, and managed a wide range of stakeholders with uncommon wisdom and tact.
Today, as he assumes the role of National Chairman of our great party, the APC, I pay warm tribute to a man who is never distracted, whose eyes are firmly fixed on the future, and whose leadership has already left lasting footprints in the sands of time.
Leadership is not just about holding an office but about building systems, nurturing others, and creating pathways for those behind. This is where Dr. Nentawe excels. I encourage him to continue this legacy—deliberately raising stepping stones for the future, building leaders, and cultivating loyal followers. Many before him have struggled with this challenge, but he possesses the temperament, intellect, and grace to succeed.
Sir, do not fear young and intelligent people. Instead, leverage their strength, refine their skills, and send them forth as standard-bearers of your vision. That is how great movements are built and maintained.
As you begin this new assignment, please rely on my steadfast loyalty and support. I will gladly contribute my voice and strength to your mission wherever necessary.
It has been a unique privilege to serve as a Senior Technical Advisor on Data and Systems Strategy under your leadership, with invaluable support from the World Bank. Throughout this experience, I have gained profound insights and knowledge in this field, which will undoubtedly impact my professional journey.
Dr. Nentawe, thank you for demonstrating that leadership can be firm, compassionate, visionary, and practical. May your tenure as National Chairman be characterised by unity, growth, and unparalleled impact.
Congratulations, Sir. The future looks promising, and we stand by you.
