Plateau State Government Trains Local Government Leaders for Better Service Delivery

The Plateau State Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs has just wrapped up a training program for 17 Local Government Chairmen. The event, held at the Miango Rest Home in Bassa LGA, aimed to equip local leaders with the skills and knowledge needed to drive development in their communities.

Governor Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang joined the event via Zoom, thanking the facilitators and charging the participants to put their new skills to work. “As leaders, you are in government to serve,” he reminded them.

Commissioner Hon. Chief Ephraim Usman congratulated the participants and explained that the training was designed to align local government priorities with the state’s development framework. He highlighted key objectives, including collaboration, accountability, and digitalization.

The training ended with a set of recommendations, emphasizing the need for leaders to prioritize their people’s interests and promote development.

Some of the participants, including Joshua Riti (Bassa LGA), Hon. Wallat Christopher Manship (Quanpan LGA), and Hon. Lapching Ezekiel Golime (Kanke LGA), praised the training and promised to share their new knowledge with their communities.

The event’s theme, “That Plateau May Shine,” reflects the state government’s vision for a brighter future. The Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs will continue to support local governments in implementing the training’s recommendations.
