Sen. Diket Plang visits Bokkos LGA, sympathises with attacked victims and affected communities.

The Senator representing Plateau Central at the National Assembly, Distinguished Senator Diket Plang Chairman, Senate Committee on Labour, Employment, and Productivity, and Vice Chairman of the Committee on Federal Character, paid a condolence visit to victims and communities recently attacked in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Senator Plang began his visit at the Palace of the Acting Saf Ron-Kulere, where he expressed his heartfelt sympathy to the acting President of the Bokkos Traditional Council, His Royal Highness Saf Lawrence Aizat, the council of chiefs, and the entire people of Bokkos LGA.

The senator expressed deep sorrow over the fresh wave of violence that affected communities including Manguna, Daffo, Hurti, and Ruwi. The attacks resulted in the tragic loss of innocent lives and the destruction of properties.

Speaking in strong terms, the Senator described the attacks on communities such as Manguna, Daffo, Hurti, and Ruwi as painful and heartbreaking. This act of criminalities has torn apart families, dreams cut short, and livelihoods destroyed.

Senator Plang emphasized that the purpose of his visit was not only to condole with the people but also to assess the situation and gather a firsthand report back to the National Assembly to facilitate lasting solutions to the insecurity bedeviling the area.

While commending the efforts of security operatives in stabilizing the situation, he urged them to intensify their operations and ensure that the perpetrators are arrested and made to face the full weight of the law. Senator Plang thereby made a donation of 1.5 Million naira to support the affected victims.

Receiving the Senator, HRH Saf Ron-Kulere Lawrence Aizat appreciated the prompt visit, describing it as a reassuring sign that the Federal Government is concerned about the plight of the people. He also extended gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his interest in addressing the security challenges confronting Bokkos LGA.

Other dignitaries who spoke during the visit included Prof. Stephen Mallo, Hon. Jonathan Akos, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Goar, Chief Sam Damla, and Dr. Evang. Sam Mbok, among others.
