On April 24, 2024, Rukuba Barracks hosted a significant gathering of community stakeholders, organized by the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 3 Division of the Army. The objective was clear: to facilitate dialogue and address pressing issues affecting the Mangu and Bokkos local governments.
Among the distinguished attendees was Hon. Chief Ephraim Usman, the commissioner of local government and chieftain affairs, who also serves as the representative of His Excellency, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang. Taking the podium, the honorable commissioner spoke passionately, advocating for the interests of Plateau State. He emphasized the importance of protecting Plateau, stating unequivocally that it belongs to its people. He also cautioned against internal threats, urging citizens to exercise caution when engaging with strangers. His message resonated as a call for transparency and honest dialogue in such crucial gatherings.
Thanks to Ephraim Usman’s impactful intervention, the meeting became a platform where open dialogue was not only encouraged but also expected. It underscored the importance of genuine engagement and active participation in addressing community concerns. As the meeting concluded, there was a palpable commitment from both military and civilian stakeholders to continue this dialogue and work collaboratively to tackle the challenges ahead.
